![]() So 3 generations later you might be looking at weird problems you just can't solve, or even a corrupted 'hood where half the sims have broken genetics in some form. The biggest trouble with genetics is that you can remove stuff and nothing bad seems to happen, but if you continue using the family (which now has broken genetics), corruption might still be happening behind the scenes, and grow bigger without you knowing. ![]() If you want to remove genetics, the "safest" way is to first use sim surgery in SimPE to give them new genetics (maxis skins/eyes are safest). Problems caused by skintones or eyes can't be fixed by a mirror (but hairs can). ![]() I've had troubly skins in my game before (a genetic skintone that looked completely different from those I used), but I sort of fixed it by making the skin fully custom and didn't let the touched families have more kids, and the spread stopped there. Default skins are safe to remove, as they go by other "rules". This applies to townified and geneticized skins. They revert to whichever eyes are painted onto the skintone, and you're sddenly looking at broken genetics or a corrupted skin tone. ![]() You should never remove eyes if they're used ingame, as they can cause big troubles. If I change a Simss skintone in SimPE is it changed genetically once I commit Meaning will their babies have a shot at the new skin or are they stuck with S2. Hairstyles revert to any other hairstyle in the same color, BUT skintones can cause troubles with genetics. ![]()
